Wellbeing Wins Contract for the Lighthouse Laboratory at Alderley Park

Wellbeing Software awarded the Laboratory Information Management System contract for the Lighthouse Laboratory at Alderley Park

Wellbeing Software has been awarded the contract to supply, deliver, install and provide maintenance and support of a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) with Medicines Discovery Catapult (MDC) for its Lighthouse Lab in the UK. The Evolution vLab LIMS solution will be used at the Alderley Park Lighthouse Lab to process a range of sample types.

The UK government established a series of specialist Coronavirus testing laboratories last year, known as ‘Lighthouse Labs’, to rapidly increase COVID-19 testing capacity. In April 2020,  MDC was tasked with coordinating and delivering a Lighthouse Lab in Alderley Park, Cheshire.

Evolution vLab is a market-leading Enterprise LIMS solution in Australia and is used in 42% of public pathology labs and supported through its Australian company, Citadel Health. Citadel Health has supported its Australian customers during the pandemic by fast-tracking specialist PCR equipment interfaces to allow for increased COVID-19 testing capacity and faster turnaround times.

Stephen Lynch, Executive General Manager at Wellbeing Software said: “MDC and the Alderley Park Lighthouse Lab have done a fantastic job processing millions of samples over the last year. We are proud to be supporting MDC with this project as part of the national effort to track and trace COVID-19 incidents in the UK.”
